












Shortly after the "Revolution of Dignity" in Kyiv, Crimea, with the support of activists from Russia, began to secede from Ukraine. Well-trained soldiers without any insignia, later identified as Russian paratroopers, blockaded Ukrainian military bases. Facing no resistance from the temporary government of Ukraine, pro-Russian activists managed to hold a referendum, leading to the Crimean Spring of 2014 becoming the last for many years under the flag of Ukraine.
